About us

The Cardiovascular Simulation Center is the first innovative simulation workspace of its kind in the Czech Republic, focused on postgraduate education in cardiology. The purpose of the center is to educate future cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, arrhythmologists and other specialists in invasive and interventional procedures using a virtual 3D environment that poses zero risk to both physicians and patients. Absence of X-ray radiation and the possibility to simulate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a virtual environment facilitate intensive preparation and shortening of the learning curve in specialized procedures. The Cardiovascular Simulation Center was established in 2019 at the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology under the supervision of the head of the department, Prof. Petr Kala, MD, Ph.D. The aim of the Simulation Center is to develop into a comprehensive simulation hub covering a wide range of postgraduate and highly specialized educational activities.
